Electrifying entertainment show on the Drag Strip features Monster and Jet Trucks

Palm Beach International Raceway

JUPITER, FL – October 1, 2013 – Palm Beach International Raceway™ (PBIR) hosts a drag racing spectacle of fiery
sights and sounds: Thunder Jam on Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 4 to 9 pm. From Monster Trucks to Funny
Cars, Thunder Jam boasts an evening of fun‐filled enjoyment with racing entertainment for the whole family in
which race fans can experience the world’s most extreme, outrageous and powerful race machines on the PBIR
Drag Strip. Thunder Jam’s featured line‐up includes Super Shockwave, BIGFOOT, Bradford’s Fiat, Nasty Benjamin,
USA1, Frantic Ford, and Kid KJ’s Monster Bear.

With its fiberglass 1957 Chevrolet body, Super Shockwave, Les Shockley’s Jet Truck, spits flames 20 feet in the air
and unleashes 12,500 pounds of thrust from its two Pratt & Whitney jet engines that produce more than 20,000
horsepower. Gulping nearly 80 gallons of diesel fuel per run, Super Shockwave will blaze down the Drag Strip and
exceed speeds of 330 mph.

Internationally recognized icon BIGFOOT, the Original Monster Truck, will bring its car crushing power to PBIR.
BIGFOOT will be available for photo opportunities and autographs as well. Earlier this year, BIGFOOT Founder
Bob Chandler, was inducted into the Off‐Road Motorsports Hall of Fame’s 2013 Class.
In the Nostalgia Fuel Altered category, nitro veteran Randy Bradford from Camano Island, Washington pilots
Bradford’s Fiat, powered by a 417 Donovan engine, while Tom Padilla from Arlington, Washington drives Nasty
Benjamin, a 1927 Ford T Bucket powered by a 496 Hemi engine.

Top Fuel Funny Car World Champion Bruce Larson steers the USA‐1 Tribute Funny Car. Linden began drag racing
at 16 years of age in Linden, New Jersey, and he raced his first Top Fuel car in 1992. He was inducted into Don
Garlits International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2006. Also in the Nostalgia Funny Car class, Frantic Ford features
a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang body taken from a mold from the original Gas Ronda 1969 Ford Mustang.

Touring as the star of the Jr. Monster Truck League, Kaid Jaret Olson‐Weson, aka Kid KJ, will race his Monster Bear,
˝‐scale professional Mini‐Monster Truck, on the Drag Strip, jumping ramps and performing a mini freestyle show.
Fans can meet the 8‐year‐old racer who calls Fort Lauderdale, Florida home, take photos with the Truck and get
an autograph. Every child attending Thunder Jam between the ages of 6 and 12 will be given a raffle ticket – one
lucky winner will have the opportunity to sit in Monster Bear and even drive it!

In addition to the on‐track action, fans will also take part in the AMSOIL Pit Party featuring driver autographs,
pictures with the famous vehicles, pit tours and more. Thunder Jam is a national, annual touring series of the
International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) offering a family‐friendly atmosphere with unforgettable entertainment
at an incredible value. Tickets are just $20 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Gates open at 4 pm.
